Fireworks Extravaganza Lights Up Ho Chi Minh City’s River Fest

The Ho Chi Minh City Culture, Sports, and Tourism Department is planning an exciting celebration with low-altitude pyrotechnic shows at three iconic locations along the Saigon River. The department has requested approval from the municipal administration for this spectacular event. The shows are scheduled to take place on May 31, with fireworks illuminating the night sky at 9:30 pm, 9:40 pm, and 9:55 pm, respectively, at the Saigon River bank in Thu Duc City, Ba Son Wharf in District 1, and a riverside park near the Landmark 81 skyscraper in Binh Thanh District. Each show will be a 15-minute dazzling display. Mr. Hoa, an official from the department, shared that the second river festival will be even grander than the first. Europe Village 2023 in Hanoi: Explore cultural diversity of Europe

This weekend, the pedestrian areas around Hoan Kiem Lake will be turned into a miniature Europe with a variety of artistic, culinary, and lifestyle experiences for the public. Organized by the Delegation of the European Union (EU) and EU Member States, Europe Village – the largest European cultural event in Vietnam in 2023 – will take place from May 12 to 14 and promises to offer a memorable journey through the diversity of European cultures. Returning after five years, the event, with the participation of 16 EU countries and Ukraine as a special guest, will showcase the diverse cultural identity of European countries.  The event will offer an intense line-up of more than 20 musical performances by European and Vietnamese musicians, presenting genres from jazz, pop-rock, and DJ sets to classical rhythms.    French singer Kenjah will perform on the main stage. National Museum of History launches first night tour for local and foreign visitors

The Vietnam National Museum of History launched the new tour from March 14 and they are set to run every weekend or according to the pre-booked tour schedule. Travelers can explore the architecture of the museum building which is commonly called “Nhà Bác Cổ” (Archaeological House) by Hanoians. The building is best known as a prime example of Indo-Chinese architecture in Vietnam during the colonial past, which combines eastern and western styles. Furthermore, the museum offers a special night tour to admire kapok tree blossoms inside the museum’s grounds. Visitors will also have the chance to find out about various national treasures preserved at the museum such as Ngoc Lu drum, Van Ban Pagoda’s bell, stone stale from Tu Ky Pagoda, and an ancient stone bridge. The European Literature Days 2023 will run in Hanoi from May 11 to 21, with many events, according to the French Institute. The opening ceremony will be held on May 13 with the participation of representatives from embassies and cultural institutes of 13 European countries. As part of the 2023 European Literature Days, publishing units and cultural enterprises in Vietnam will hold book launches, readings, literary discussions, and book fairs. Vietnam attends ASEAN- China Intangible Cultural Heritage Week

The maiden event aimed to increase exchanges and cooperation between ASEAN member states and China in the protection, inheritance, utilisation and development of intangible cultural heritage in the region and the world.
