Local and foreign beauties model at Harper's Bazaar Star Awards 2022

At the ceremony held on November 30 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnamese designer introduces her latest collection “Heritage” to the public. Lalela Mswane, the winner of the Miss Supranational 2022 pageant, (R) performs at the fashion show. The 25-year-old model was crowned Miss South Africa 2021 before finishing as second runner-up at Miss Universe 2021 and being named the ultimate winner of Miss Supranational 2022. Kim Duyen, a Top 16 finisher at Miss Universe 2021, participates in the fashion show. The key material used in the collection is silk from famous craft villages such as Van Phuc and Bao Loc. The outfits appear more colourful and stylish as the Hanoi native designer makes use of brocade from the Central Highlands region as one of the materials. Local fashion outlets remain quiet despite launch of Black Friday super sales

Popular streets around the capital such as Chua Boc, Pham Ngoc Thach, Cau Giay, and Thai Ha, all of which are hubs for fashion stores, showcase banners for the discounts available on Black Friday. However, the launch of this year’s sales doesn’t seem very exciting for customers. Some stores even offer buyers special gifts such as teddy bears, although these promotions have not drawn much attention from customers. Many fashion outlets choose to apply offers such as “buy 1 free 1” or “80% discount” in a bid to attract more shoppers. A fashion store offers a 50% discount on items for Black Friday, although it fails to draw in many new customers. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, purchasers have been forced to tighten their belts, with many currently prioritising essential goods. Kids’ clothes priced at VND99,000, VND149,000, and VND199,000 each go on sale on the pavement. Things appear to be gloomy this year...
