Hanoi Pho: Elevating a Familiar Dish to a Cultural Legacy

Image
Master chef Nguyen Thi Van’s passion for Hanoi Pho is deeply rooted in her childhood memories. Growing up in Hanoi, Van fell in love with the iconic dish, and it left a lasting impression that inspired her to dedicate her life to sharing it with the world. This passion led her to create the Long Bich pho chain, a testament to her success in bringing the heartwarming taste of Vietnam to tables everywhere. Van fondly recalls her parents taking her to a local pho shop to celebrate her good grades. “It was always a treat to enjoy a bowl of beef pho as a reward for doing well in school,” she reminisces. “Those memories are what fuel my love and passion for this dish.” After getting married, Van began selling pho . It wasn’t always easy, but her determination and passion kept her going. “I faced many challenges along the way,” she admits, “but I always followed my heart. Now, I’m proud to have played a part in introducing the culinary culture of Hanoi to international food lovers.” Van...

Gamblers Back Iron Mike to Knock Out the Mouthy YouTuber

Approximately 52% of total bets placed backed Tyson by TKO/KO/DQ at DraftKings, with odds of +250 on Friday midday, just eight hours before the highly anticipated card was set to commence streaming exclusively on Netflix. Nearly half of the method-of-victory wagers were placed on Tyson, while 13% of bets and handles at DraftKings favored the odds of +150 for a Paul victory through the same method. Despite the excitement, not all states with legalized gambling offered wagering on the fight. This was due to alterations in standard boxing rules, including shorter rounds of two minutes and the use of heavier 14-ounce gloves instead of the usual 11 ounces. Specifically, the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) prohibited any betting on the match, citing these amended rules as the reason. The influx of money placed on Tyson caused a shift in consensus odds throughout the week. BetMGM, for instance, posted an outright Paul win at -190 on Friday afternoon, a significant change from the o...

Djokovic dominates Sinner to claim record-breaking seventh ATP Finals championship

The 36-year-old Serb was defeated by the local favorite Sinner earlier this week in the group stage, but he got his revenge with an outstanding performance, winning 6-3 6-3. A packed crowd at Turin’s Pala Alpitour had hoped to see the 22-year-old Sinner claim the biggest title of his career, but Djokovic was simply on another level. The world number one only dropped two points on his serve in a flawless first set, and once he broke Sinner’s serve in the fourth game, it was mostly one-way traffic. At one point, Djokovic won 14 consecutive points against the world number four before Sinner briefly halted the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s momentum. Sinner managed to avoid going down a double break as Djokovic surprisingly missed a routine passing shot. Sinner then had chances to break back in the sixth game, but he couldn’t convert either of them. Djokovic also failed to convert break points that would have given him a 5-2 lead, as a few errors crept into his game. The crowd did the...

Jaishankar made these remarks during the annual flagship event co-hosted by the Ministry of External Affairs and Carnegie India. The theme for this year’s Summit is Geopolitics of Technology. “India would like to use the presidency of G20 in many ways to reflect interests and concerns today of the global south as we feel they’re being sidelined and not just be a voice but would like to take into global south something we’ve tested and prepared at home,” said EAM at Global Tech Summit.
