The Top Vietnamese Travel Trend for 2024: Exploring Our Own Backyard

Vinh Hy Bay in Ninh Thuan, a province in south-central Vietnam, was the second most searched destination by locals, according to Google’s ‘Year in Search 2024’ list. The top spot went to Malaysia, with Europe also making an appearance in sixth place as a desired international travel location. Other domestic destinations that made the cut include the ancient town of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province, Con Son in the bustling city of Can Tho, Gia Lai Province with its lush mountains, the romantic city of Da Lat in Lam Dong Province, Thuy Chau tourist area in Binh Duong Province, and the ever-popular Da Nang. The list also included a general search for ‘travel within Vietnam,’ indicating a growing interest in exploring the beauty of their own country. A spokesperson from Google Vietnam confirmed to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that the data in the list was carefully compiled, with search phrases like ‘travel to Vinh Hy’ and ‘Thuy Chau tourist area’ reflecting the exact keywords used by locals....
