Cashew exports earn the country a total of US$1.6 billion throughout the reviewed period, up by 7.7% against the same period from last year. The average export price stands at an estimated US$5,805 per tonne. Vietnam ships 1.02 million tonnes of coffee overseas for US$2.4 billion in the first six months of the year, a decline of 2.2% in volume but up by 3% in value, respectively. Shrimp exports rake in US$1.2 billion in the first half of the year, an annual drop of 34%. Vietnamese rubber export revenue in the January to June period hits US$803 million with a volume of 580,000 tonnes, annual declines of 23.7% and 3.3%, respectively. Five Vietnamese Universities Ranked in QS World University Rankings 2024

The Duy Tan University is ranked 514 in the QS World University Rankings 2024. The Ton Duc Thang University is placed in the range of 721-730, while the Vietnam National University (VNU) – Hanoi and VNU – Ho Chi Minh City are in the range of 951-1000. The Hanoi University of Science and Technology is categorized as 1201-1400. The QS World University Rankings 2024 includes a total of 1,499 universities from 104 countries and territories. Out of these, 83 universities are entering the list for the first time. Malaysia has the highest number of ranked universities in Southeast Asia, with 28 universities. Indonesia follows with 26, Thailand has 13, Vietnam has 5, the Philippines has 5, Singapore has 4, and Brunei has 2. Dutch Develop Appreciation for Vietnamese Cuisine

The monthly event aims to contribute to enhancing mutual understanding, friendship, and solidarity among the embassies of ASEAN countries in the Netherlands. Mayelinne de Lara, representative of The Diplomat Magazine of the Netherlands and the EU, expressed her appreciation for the special relationship among ASEAN countries and diplomatic families in the ASEAN community in the Netherlands. She proposed the idea of organizing a common cultural event for the embassies of ASEAN countries and other foreign embassies in the Netherlands. The goal of the event would be to promote the unique culture and cuisine of ASEAN countries, especially Vietnam, to the Dutch people. Alumna of Vietnam Recalls Yogurt Made by Cuban Grandmothers

Photo: Ky uc Cuba/Facebook page 73-year-old Phuong Song Lien, a member of the club of Vietnamese alumni once studied in Cuba, recalled the time in the fall of 1967, at the age of 17, she boarded a ship to go to Cuba to study Veterinary Medicine at La Habana University. After nearly a month, she arrived in Cuba. Since then, she had lived a vibrant, carefree and liberal Latin life, welcomed by the Cuban people with open arms, ready to teach all the students the knowledge and profession that Vietnam needs. What Lien treasures most is the love and affection of Cuban people for Vietnamese students. Despite many difficulties and deprivations due to the encirclement and embargo policies against their country, Cubans still save, give rice and share clothes, giving Vietnamese students the best conditions to study and live.
