The Death of a Legend: Trial for Maradona’s Untimely Passing Delayed Until 2025

A court in San Isidro, a town outside of Buenos Aires, has agreed to postpone the trial of those accused in the death of football legend Diego Maradona. The trial, which was originally set to begin on June 4 and then postponed until October 1, will now commence on March 11, according to the Argentine newspaper La Nacion. Maradona, a footballing icon who led Argentina to their second World Cup victory in 1986, passed away in November 2020 at the age of 60 due to heart failure. This followed brain surgery that he had undergone days prior. Those charged in connection with his death include Maradona’s neurosurgeon, psychologist, psychiatrist, and nurses. They face potential prison sentences ranging from eight to 25 years. UNESCO Grants World Heritage Status to Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba Archipelago

At the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, UNESCO officially announced the inclusion of the Vietnamese site to its list of world heritage sites. The announcement was made at 9:39 pm (Vietnam time) on the same day. The Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago is an exceptional world heritage site, recognized by UNESCO as Vietnam’s first inter-provincial destination. The Cat Ba Archipelago, located in Hai Phong, a prominent port city in northern Vietnam, is renowned for being the largest limestone archipelago in the country. With over 360 islands, it encompasses Cat Ba Island, situated to the south of Ha Long Bay. According to a report from the government news site baochinhphu.vn, the archipelago has previously been designated as a world biosphere reserve by UNESCO.
