The Soulful Mystique of Hanoi in Lacquer Art
In a unique twist to the traditional lacquer painting exhibition, artist Chu Nhat Quang presents his collection, Sacred Marks , in the open air, amidst the ancient architecture of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel. This exhibition, a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, offers a special artistic experience to its visitors. The collection features 52 lacquer paintings, a traditional art form, depicting the landscapes and heritage sites of Hanoi. The subjects of these paintings include iconic locations such as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel itself, the Turtle Tower, Hanoi Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, and the One Pillar Pagoda, to name a few. Chu Nhat Quang, the artist behind these paintings, expresses his dedication to the art of lacquer painting and considers this exhibition a first step in a long creative journey.
