Da Nang Unveils Plans for a Captivating Christmas-New Year Festival by the Han River

Organized by the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the Da Nang Christmas-New Year Festival ’25 is a 3-week celebration filled with cultural, tourism, and recreational activities. Taking place from December 14, 2024, to January 2, 2025, the festival promises to create magical holiday memories for both locals and visitors, with the iconic Dragon Bridge serving as the heart of the festivities. This inaugural event, as emphasized by Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, aims to offer joyful and memorable experiences, solidifying Da Nang as a must-visit destination during the year-end holidays. Examining the Gold Imperial Seal of the Nguyen Dynasty’s Return to Vietnam

According to the Department of Cultural Heritage, the gold seal is 10.4 centimetres high, weighs 10.78 kilograms, and measures 13.8×13.7 cm. The treasure is an important cultural heritage symbolising political power during a period in Vietnamese history, marking the transition from monarchy to modern democracy in the Ho Chi Minh era. The seal was cast in 1823 under the reign of King Minh Mang, the second emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, who ruled from 1820 till his death in 1841. The Nguyen Dynasty, which ruled from 1802 to 1945, was the last monarchy in Vietnamese history. It crafted and put into use more than 100 seals, often cast in gold, silver, or precious jade. Currently, the National Museum of History is storing and preserving 85 precious jade seals of the Nguyen Dynasty. The white reed field stretches across a large space for visitors to enjoy. At weekends and even on normal days, the site is crowded amid people flocking to snap check-in photos. Parents bring their children to take lovely pictures at the field. A group of students enjoy the beautiful scenery after school. The best time in which to take pictures with reeds is during the early morning and in the late afternoon.
