Vietnam Rejects China’s 9-Dash Line in Upholding Ban on ‘Barbie’

Variety, an American magazine, reported that a spokesperson from Warner Bros. Film Group stated that the map in Barbie Land is a child-like crayon drawing. The doodles on the map depict Barbie’s fictional journey from Barbie Land to the real world. The spokesperson clarified that the intention was not to make any type of statement. Vi Kien Thanh, head of the Vietnam Cinema Department, responded to Warner Bros.’ explanation, stating that he has not received any information about it and upholds the ban on the movie. ECOViP is a project financed by the European Commission and coordinated by Nha Trang University. The project was launched on July 11 with the goal of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of ecotourism. Its main objectives are to promote sustainable development in Vietnam and the Philippines, VNA reported. Representatives from 11 partner units attended the event. Vietnamese universities represented include Nha Trang University, Can Tho University, and Thai Nguyen University of Science. International schools in attendance included the University of San Carlos, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Lyceum University Philippines – Batangas ( the Philippines); University of Portucalense (Portugal); FH Joanneum University (Austria); University of Alicante (Spain).
