The Magic of Culture, Sports, and Tourism: Long An’s Week-Long Festival

The provincial government hosted a press conference on Tuesday, announcing the highly anticipated Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week. This year, the week-long celebration will commence on November 28 and conclude on December 4, as shared by Nguyen Thanh Thanh, the director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. According to Thanh, this year’s festivities will encompass 11 flagship events. These include an opening ceremony and a tourism promotion conference, joined by Ho Chi Minh City and 13 Mekong Delta provinces. The conference will also showcase the One Commune One Product initiative, highlighting the region’s diverse offerings. Among the week’s attractions is the Long An – South Korea Trade and Culinary Fair, offering a unique blend of cultural exchange and delicious cuisine. Hanoi Celebrates its Status as a Creative City with Vietnamese-Korean Tug-of-War Competition

The Festival of Tug-of-War Rituals and Games took place on November 17-18 at the Hanoi Museum and Tran Vu Temple in Long Bien District, Hanoi. The event attracted nearly 500 artisans from Bac Ninh, Lao Cai, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, and Dangjin City (Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea). Entitled “One Rope, One Community,” the festival was the first of its kind in Vietnam and aimed to foster connections and exchanges among communities practicing tug-of-war, which is recognized as a UNESCO heritage. On November 17, a discussion on tug-of-war heritage education was organized at the Hanoi Museum, with 50 delegates from the Gijisi Tug-of-War Association (Dangjin City, Korea) and Vietnamese experts. ‘Ego-Humankind’ Exhibition opens up strange perspective for Hanoi urban area

The ‘Ego-Humankind’ Exhibition, dedicated to artist Ngo Xuan Binh (born in 1957), displays over 200 lacquer and oil paintings, accompanied by more than 100 sculptures made of bronze, stone, and wood. Impressive moments of first Vietnamese triathlon race in Phu Quoc

Lam Tuc Ngan from Ho Chi Minh City who represents Vietnam at the Ironman World Championship 2022, notes Vietnam boasts good conditions to organise global tournaments as it has long coastline, many beautiful roads, and mild weather, making it suitable for triathlon tournaments. Matan Nemeoff of Israel finishes first in the men’s category. Second and third-placed positions go to Takanori Ayusawa of Japan and Le Tan Tai of Vietnam, respectively. In the women’s category Nguyen Tra My of Vietnam wins first prize. Hilary Rea of the United States and Alex Wilkinson of the UK come in second and third, respectively.
