Cambodian PM Hun Manet receives warm welcome in Hanoi during inaugural Vietnam trip
Relations between Vietnam and Cambodia have grown positively over time with regular contact and meetings, which have helped to establish political trust and promote cooperation in various sectors. The two countries have maintained existing cooperation mechanisms, including the joint committee on economic, cultural, scientific, and technological cooperation, and the cooperation and development conference between border localities of the two countries. Economic and trade cooperation is considered a highlight in bilateral cooperation, with two-way trade reaching US$6.5 billion last year. Vietnam is currently Cambodia’s third-largest trading partner, trailing behind China and the United States, and the largest within ASEAN.
