The Young Artist’s Captivating Talent: A 13-year-old South Korean Captivates Spectators at Ho Chi Minh City Art Exchange

A young South Korean artist, adorned in vibrant Hanbok, graced the stage at the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Arts and Literature Associations. Her performance, a beautiful blend of traditional songs and the art of Pansori, captivated the audience with its unique narrative style accompanied by a drummer.

Seong, the talented vocalist, shared with Tuoi Tre newspaper that her journey with Pansori began in first grade, and she felt deeply honored to be performing in Vietnam.

The cultural program also showcased the talents of South Korean artists, featuring a traditional Salpuri dance and an energetic drum dance that filled the venue with rhythm and joy.

Vietnamese artists contributed to the event with their own traditional folk arts, including ca tru, an ancient ceremonial singing style from the north, chau van, spiritual singing with a deep cultural significance, and hat xam, a folk music genre unique to northern Vietnam.

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Arts and Literature Association hosted this wonderful event, which also included an exhibition of over 100 photographs, statues, and architectural masterpieces created by Vietnamese and South Korean artists, offering a visual feast for attendees.

Nguyen Truong Luu, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Arts and Literature Associations, expressed his hopes that this cultural exchange would foster more opportunities for cooperation and future exchanges between the two nations.

Lee Chang Hwan, head of the Daegu City Union of Culture and Arts Associations, echoed these sentiments, stating that art exchange events and the promotion of artistic products will strengthen the bond and collaboration between Ho Chi Minh City and Daegu.
