Air Force Practices for 70th Anniversary Celebration of Dien Bien Phu Victory



Every helicopter undergoes a thorough inspection before participating in the event.


To mark the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory over French colonialists, several military branches, including the air force, will participate in the parade on May 7 at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium.

The parade on May 7 will feature participation from all military and militia forces, including the air force.


The Vietnamese revolutionary army launched its initial attack against the French colonialists’ heavily fortified base at Dien Bien Phu on March 13, 1954, initiating a historic 56-day campaign. The victory led directly to the signing of the Geneva Accords, ending the war and restoring peace in Indochina.


The parade will be the highlight of several activities commemorating the anniversary of the victory. It will serve to emphasize the significance and historical importance of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the overall development of the Vietnam People’s Army.














The air force’s practice attracts considerable attention from local residents.

The Stone Church in Tam Dao

Tam Dao Church is located on a slope leading to the peak of Thien Nhi in the centre of Tam Dao Town, Vinh Phuc Province. Thanks to its favourable position, the majestic and imposing church can be seen from every place in the town. The church was built in 1906 as a modest stilt house and was rebuilt in 1937 with stone in Gothic style. It is one of the four most famous stone churches in Vietnam with the others being Phat Diem Church (Ninh Binh), Sa Pa Church (Lao Cai) and Nha Trang Church (Khanh Hoa). The building has kept intact its stunning beauty over time.
