Both cities will facilitate exchanges and sharing of experiences among their football teams and clubs, and encourage departments and agencies to increase cooperation.

Vice Chairman Duc expressed his hope that the MoU will strengthen the partnership between the two cities, which are both economic hubs, especially in the areas of economy, culture, tourism, and innovation. This will contribute to promoting ties between Vietnam and Portugal.

Mayor Moreira believes that the agreement will establish an effective economic partnership and enhance cooperation in tourism and urban upgrading. He also highlighted the traditional relations between Vietnam and Portugal and the growing bilateral partnership in recent years.

The leaders of both cities pointed out the potential for cooperation in various fields, such as tourism, cultural heritage preservation, tertiary education, and science and technology.

During the visit, the HCM City delegation also visited historical and architectural sites in Porto, including the ancient market of Bolhão and the Matadouro ancient street, to learn from the city’s experiences. They also met with the University of Porto, one of Europe’s top universities.
