“To the west of the city is a hill station and resort called Ba Na Hills, where you can find the majestic Golden Bridge. You can take a cable car ride to and from the resort,” according to Microsoft Travel.

Ba Na Hills, around 25 kilometers from downtown Da Nang, lies 1,400 meters above sea level and has a complex of luxury resorts, theme parks, and amusement facilities.

In 2018, the 150-metre-long Golden Bridge, designed like giant hands from fiberglass and mesh wire, was built on Ba Na Hills and quickly became one of the tourism symbols of the city.

Another leading attraction in the city are the Marble Mountains, a cluster of five marble and limestone hills with pagodas on top and hidden caves with Buddhist shrines.

Other destinations in the list are India’s Srinagar and Gangtok, China’s Huangshan and Lhasa, the Philippines’ Baguio, and Nepal’s Kathmandu.

In 2019, Da Nang welcome nearly 8.7 million visitors, of whom more than 3.5 million were international arrivals, and earnings from tourism reached about VND31 trillion ($1.3 billion USD). Da Nang has become a new tourism hub of Vietnam, contributing 20% of the total number of foreign tourists coming to the country, VietnamPlus reported.

To kick start off a busy tourism season, the city has announced the “Enjoy Da Nang” 2023 tourism promotion programme with various and diverse activities such as the DIFF from June 2 to July 8, IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam competition, SPRINT and IRONKIDS; the Asia- Da Nang film festival, a golf tourism festival, among others.

Director of the municipal Tourism Department Truong Thi Hong Hanh revealed that with support of relevant agencies and warm response from local and foreign tourism service providers, new and high quality tourism products will be introduced continuously to serve demand of holidaymakers.

Tickets for the Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 have been sold online to create favourable conditions for local residents and tourists, according to the event’s organizers, Vietnamnet said.

Buyers can access https://diff.vn/ or call the hotline at 0914155561 to buy and inquire about tickets. Especially, they will enjoy a 5% discount when booking tickets on the website.

Prices of ticket range from VND800,000 VND to VND3,000,000.

Themed “The World Without Distance”, the festival is scheduled to take place from June 2 to July 8.

This year’s event will feature eight teams from the UK, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland, and Vietnam competing over five nights across two months.

Each team will put on a 20-minute performance based on five themes: No Distance Love, Peace for the World, Equality for Human Beings, No Limits Innovation, and Sustainable Tourism Development. The two best teams will compete to take the top prize on the final night – July 8.

The latest festival in 2019, seen as the most successful performance with more than 1 million visitors, was completed with victory for Finland’s Joho Pyro Fireworks./.
