In the meeting, former President Michelle Bachelet expressed her admiration for the indomitable and resilient spirit of the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national independence and achievements in national construction. According to the Chilean former President, Ho Chi Minh is a symbol in the hearts of peace-loving people around the world. Therefore, Chile will support the “Vietnam-Chile memories” project and the renovation of Ho Chi Minh Park in Cerro Navia district.

According to Nguyen Van Loi, after his visit to Chile in September 2022, leaders of Binh Duong province sent specific reports and proposals on supporting the renovation of Ho Chi Minh Park in Cerro Navia district, potentials and orientations in trade and investment promotion with Chile.

On this occasion, leaders of both sides witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on Support for the renovation of Ho Chi Minh Park in Cerro Navia district, Santiago capital of Chile between the Department of Construction of Binh Duong province and Cerro Navia district.

After the signing ceremony, it is expected that in April 2023, the delegation of Binh Duong province will visit Chile and discuss in detail about the renovation of Ho Chi Minh Park and exploring opportunities for trade and investment promotion in Chile.

In 1969, the people of Cerro Navia district named a park in the district Ho Chi Minh Park to commemorate and honor President Ho Chi Minh and express solidarity for the struggle for liberation of the Vietnamese people.

Over the past 50 years, Ho Chi Minh Park has become a living proof of the friendship between the people of Vietnam and Chile.
