Fishing boats in Quang Ngai enjoy bumper hauls after Tet

Huynh Dinh, a resident of Duc Pho commune in Quang Ngai province, said his boat with 10 fishermen docked at Tinh Hoa fishing port with nearly 20 tonnes of various kinds of fish after being at sea for nearly one month.

The first trip of the year always means a lot to fishermen. Whether catching a little or a lot, the initial voyage out to sea sets the hopes for a new year with luck and prosperity.

At the same time, boats full of fish dock at Sa Ky fishing port in Binh Chau commune of Quang Ngai province.

Tuna boats enjoy bumper catches.

Returning home after a fishing trip at the beginning of the new lunar year, many local fishermen are happy as the price of seafood has risen and the boats are full of fish, with this being a hugely positive sign for the beginning of a season full of hope.

Each boat of 10 fishermen can earn a profit of VND25 million to VND30 million for each trip.
