They aim to develop their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a durable, healthy, and stable manner, the statement said.

The two sides agreed to accelerate the connection between the “Two corridors, one belt” framework and the “Belt and Road” initiative, reduce unbalanced trade, and push up cross-border infrastructure development.

They will continue adhering to the perception reached between their leaders and the bilateral agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues, promote the comprehensive and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (Bien Dong Sea) and soon reach the Code of Conduct.

They also agreed to manage sea-related differences, avoid actions that complicate the situation and expand disputes, as well as maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea and enhance marine cooperation.

Vietnam reiterated the “One China” policy and support of peaceful development of cross-strait relations and China’s unification, and the principle of non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs.

Vietnam voiced support for China’s bid to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, the joint statement said.
